| Feedback from Jalsa (12/07/11) |
|
To the staff and children of Paradise,
Thank you so much for inviting the children and me to your outstanding presentation (on 12th July '11)! We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Kind thoughts from us all at Pentland School
Pat, Pentland School
Throughout the school year, officers have attended to deliver both assemblies and talks to individual classes, to raise awareness of safety issues and the role of the police.
We have always found the school to be very welcoming. Staff are very receptive to new ideas. The children are always very well behaved and polite.
We have formed a good working relationship with the school and hope this will continue in the coming years.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank both staff and pupils for inviting us to the presentation [on 12th July '11] at the mosque. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

At Paradise Primary School we always strive to provide the best possible opportunities to all pupils. We have recently undertaken a project to upgrade our technological resources and are looking to invest in 7 interactive whiteboards to bring the school on par with other local maintained schools.
We are looking to raise £2500 to purchase and install the whiteboards.
We would be grateful if you could sponsor either one whiteboard (£215) or part sponsor a whiteboard (£50-£100).
Inshallah, this is a sadaqah jaariyah for anybody who wants to contribute and will benefit the pupils of Paradise for years to come. Invest in a local childs future & see the fruits of your investment in the Hereafter inshallah.
If you want to donate please email info@paradiseschool.org.uk, ring the school (01924 439803) or bring your donations to the school. Cheques should be made payable to "Paradise Primary School".

| The Press - Response |
|
The following letter was sent to The Press newspaper today in response to Danny Lockwood's article.
Dear Mr Shaw
I refer to the comments made by Mr Lockwood in last weeks Ed Lines regarding Paradise Primary School. We can categorically confirm that the school is NOT one of those allegedly investigated by Panorama and at no time have we ever used any textbooks from the Saudi Arabian school curriculum. Furthermore, we would also like to state that we are an independent school, run by parents, with no affiliations to any other national or local organisations.
We are inspected regularly by Ofsted and our Early Years section works closely with Kirklees Local Education Authority.
If the real objectives of Mr Lockwood's musings was to ascertain the 'truth or establish facts', as opposed to the manufacture of mere conjecture and speculation which may help sell newspapers; then the purpose would have been better served by talking to any of the abovementioned bodies.
Mr Lockwood could also have contacted both our current and previous MP's (Mr Simon Reevel and Shahid Malik), who have both been to the school; for their impressions as to the ethos and curriculum taught at the school.
Even easier, he could have just checked our website which has a Virtual Learning Environment, that clearly outlines what is actually taught at the school, or to make it even more effortless, he could simply have written/e mailed the school for clarification.
Has 'lazy journalism' become so institutionalised at the Press newspaper, that simply sending an email to clarify the truth is asking too much?
Finally, I would also like to point out that everyone associated with the school are very comfortable and particularly proud of the name of the school. If we cannot imbue a love for or teach our children to aspire to Paradise, then heaven help us! (if you'll excuse the pun).
Kind regards
Mr Najam Sheikh JP (Chair of the Paradise School Governing Body (PSGB)
For and on behalf of the Paradise School Governing Body
